Heartache


How do you move on from someone you love
and take on the role of a friend,
leaving a heart broken, and unable to mend.

Thinking about  the good times
when the love shared was new,
and nothing, in this whole wide world,
could break that love in two.

Now all that has changed,
and friendship is all there can be.
You feel so in love,
but there's no light left to see.

The flame of love,
is but a dying ember.
you don't want to hurt,
you don't want to remember.

You drown your sorrow,
try to hide your pain,
and hope that one day,
you're able to love  again.
